We have a career driven opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in our Head Office finance team. You’ll be the go-to finance partner for Head Office departments — helping shape budgets, forecasts, and performance insights that drive better decisions. You’ll also take ownership of monthly reporting routines, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely financial information. Working closely with the team, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of financial activities, building the skills to progress your accounting career.

 3. Hours : 37.5 Hours / Week
 4. Salary : £30,800 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
 5. Own the preparation and reporting of Head Office management accounts
 6. Ensure income/expenditure is accounted for correctly, reviewed regularly and adjustments prepared and posted - including accruals, prepayments, cost apportionments and cost transfers.
 7. Support the head office budget holders, to understand their budgets and financial responsibilities, including the provision of guidance and training as/where required.
 8. Support the Management Accounts Manager in developing and agreeing income/expenditure budgets (revenue and capital)
 9. Undertake, with supervision from the Management Accounts Manager, budget forecasting in accordance with agreed timetables with appropriate business engagement.
 10. Prepare routine budget holder reports ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability.
 11. Analyse variations to income/expenditure budget/forecasts and work with budget holders to identify and understand underlying reasons.
 12. Complete balance sheet reconciliations for specified accounts within the nominal ledger.
 13. Support the wider Finance team in the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, completing allocated duties as directed in line with the month end/year end timetable.
 14. Undertake other ad-hoc financial duties as directed by the Management Accounts Manager.
 15. Ensure that all duties are supported by documented procedure notes with appropriate quality and financial controls in place and with cover arrangements in place
About you:
 16. Preferably studying for professional qualification – CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent (including CCAB members).
 17. Experience with financial systems and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
 18. Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, and account reconciliation.
 19. Clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues.
 20. Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, non-judgmental approach.
 21. Analytical, methodical, and detail-focused, with strong numerical ability.
 22. Able to manage a demanding workload, stay positive under pressure, and adapt to change.
