You will work within the commercial team which sits within the wider people & business support directorate. The role is part of a small finance, commercial and facilities function that assumes a broad range of responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to work with and support colleagues across the organisation at and contribute to the continued development of the team. Please note there are two positions available, 1x permanent and 1x 18 month fixed-term contract What you will do Support the commercial aspects of our finance system, with a specific focus on contract management and procurement processes, providing help and guidance to users across the organisation. Lead and manage complex/high risk contract development and negotiation in line with appropriate legislation. Build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, taking a collaborative approach to ensure business needs and commercial objectives are achieved in line with expected timescales. Provide advice to stakeholders across the organisation on commercial matters to ensure that procurement activities are undertaken in accordance with internal guidance and relevant PCR/TPP legislation. This will specifically involve advising stakeholders on contract formation, project timelines, negotiation and award & contract management. Research market trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences. Be the Commercial subject matter expert on assigned areas, and the benefits they can deliver to the customer and end user. Analyse data and identify areas of cost savings and operational improvements to advise Commercial plans. Contribute to the implementation of a robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process across all key categories. Support upskilling activities for non-Commercial colleagues to ensure contracts are effectively managed to protect the organisation against risk, providing support and acting as a coach where required. Support the effective management of contracts (via contract assurance reviews) by working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure contractual performance metrics are met. To take appropriate action with stakeholders when managing Contact KPI’s/under performance and contracting issues. Your skills, knowledge and experience Previous experience in developing and negotiating contracts and procurements. Experience of working with and an understanding of complex contract documents. Strong communication, use of MS packages and writing skills. The ability to provide challenge and review to colleagues at all levels. The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a small team. Excellent analytical, data interpretation skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to produce and present information as understandable reports and advice for different audiences. Good written and verbal communication skills. The ability to organise own workload in order to meet tight deadlines. The ability to develop strong supplier relationships to ensure value for money for all goods and services.
