Senior Sous Chef at The Prince Arthur What We Are Looking For: The Prince Arthur E8 is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Senior Sous Chef to join our team. Nestled in the heart of Hackney, London E8, The Prince Arthur holds the prestigious title of the Number 1 Gastropub in London, as awarded by Timeout. We pride ourselves on our collaborations with local british suppliers from Fin & Flounder in Broadway market, to Martin Denny our forager, our meat from Lake District Farmers, and carefully sourced fruit and vegetables from across the uk from Shrub and European Fruit and Veg from Natoora. Our menus are written with an emphasis on the season and our close relationship with our suppliers, based around European flavours, particularly French, Italian and Spanish. The menu celebrates a nose-to-tail approach to dining, with whole carcasses arriving from local farmers and being completely utilised. The Role: - You will report directly to the Head chef and General Manager, d eveloping the food and menu at The Prince Arthur and ensuring that it stays seasonal and delicious. - Maintain food standards and profitable trade alongside the Head Chef. - Nurture a positive and fulfilling working environment for everyone. - Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers. - Recruit, train and develop the kitchen team including managing trials. - Maintain the upkeep of kitchen equipment, hygiene and safety standards. - Work as part of the management team alongside the Head Chef, General Manager and Assistant General Manager ensuring processes and staff work are optimal. - Educating staff (both kitchen and floor) about the menu through daily menu briefings. - Liaise with the management team to stay up to date with upcoming events and delivery requirements. - Work with Head Chef to create excellent menus for the above and develop the business What We Can Offer You: At The Prince Arthur E8, we believe in nurturing and supporting our team members to reach their fullest potential.
