Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will work 3 days per week (Wednesdays and Fridays essential) providing a full range of nursing services to our patients, including health promotion, chronic disease management, treatment room duties, and participation in NHS vaccination programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Health promotion and chronic disease management
* Provide a full range of nursing services to patients
* Conduct treatment room duties such as wound care and cervical smears
* Administer NHS vaccination programs for both adults and children
* Participate in mass vaccination campaigns such as Seasonal Flu & Covid
* Contribute to activities related to QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework)
* Review pathology results for the nursing team
* Conduct contraceptive pill checks
* Work with Patient Specific Directions (PSDs) and Patient Group Directions (PGDs)
Requirements
* Nurse qualification is essential
* Registered with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) is essential
* Experience working within a GP practice, particularly with chronic disease management, diabetes is highly desirable (training can be provided if necessary)
* Experienced in treatment room nursing
* Enthusiastic and willing to attend courses for career development
* Flexible to cover and/or work extra to help meet patient demand covering holidays etc
