We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance (M&E) Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift pattern of 06:45 to 15:45 / 08:00 to 17:00.
Key activities:
* Reporting to the Operations Manager / Senior Operations Manager
* Supervising mechanical/electrical/building trade staff and specialist contractors
* Ensuring proper allocation and completion of work, in accordance with performance monitoring system and client satisfaction
* Ordering materials and services within delegated authority and certifying delivery/completion
* Monitoring trade staff performance, timekeeping, and sickness in line with company policy
* Providing estimates for quoted works, site measurements, and maintaining records for administration
* Undertaking training and qualifying as AP and/or CP if required
* Working with tools as necessary, during emergencies, and supporting staff
* Participating in a call-out rota system for emergency response
Skills, qualifications & experience:
* Recognised electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 in electrical or mechanical discipline with industry experience
* Significant experience in a building services environment, ideally within a hospital setting
* Team player with supervisory/management experience and ability to work within a large team
* Client-focused with a delivery-oriented ‘can-do’ approach
* Knowledge of building works, mechanical and electrical engineering
* Good communication and customer service skills
* Ability to develop skills, and demonstrate planning, organizing, and prioritizing abilities
