The Department of Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine is recruiting a Specialist in Anaesthesia to join our dedicated senior clinicians team. The successful candidate will work independently alongside Consultant colleagues to provide the highest quality of care.
Location: QEQM Hospital, Margate – opportunity to work across all three hospital sites.
Responsibilities
* Work unsupervised in theatres.
* Supervise and educate resident doctors.
* Lead tutorials and organise departmental meetings with consultants.
* Assess and prepare patients for theatre and provide immediate postoperative care.
* Participate in and actively present during clinical audit and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
* Undertake appraisal processes, job planning and fulfil revalidation criteria.
* Contribute to leadership service development and continuing medical education.
* Maintain all mandatory training requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 12 years from primary qualification.
* Minimum 6 years experience as an Anaesthetist.
* Proven ability to work independently in an NHS setting.
* Experience in perioperative medicine and multidisciplinary teamwork.
