Position Summary: Vertiv is seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Student Mechanical Design Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be in full-time third-level education and must undertake a 1-year placement in industry. The candidate will receive a market-leading salary, excellent development opportunities, and extensive support within the Switchgear Product Management/R&D Department, contributing to the ongoing success of one of Ireland’s leading engineering companies.
Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the Department Head, this position offers exposure to the mechanical design aspects of electrical switchgear and the opportunity to contribute to product improvements.
* The main responsibilities include working with senior design engineers and the Switchgear Product Manager in preparing detailed mechanical drawings and documentation for LV Switchgear products and supporting related functions.
Qualifications:
* Enrolled in a third-level Engineering course with a focus on Mechanical Engineering.
* Understanding of Engineering Design Principles.
* Experience with SolidWorks.
* Proficiency with MS Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
* Standing for long periods may be required.
