Overview
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN INTERNAL VACANCY ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT NHS SCOTLAND STAFF. We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to join our CTAC Central team. This role will support our registered nurses and will offer the opportunity to develop experience and skills in many areas of care such as phlebotomy, recording vital signs, urinalysis, ECGs and wound management.

Responsibilities
* Support our registered nurses and contribute to person-centred care in a fast-paced environment.
* Develop experience in care areas such as phlebotomy, recording vital signs, urinalysis, ECGs and wound management.
* Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
* Utilise IT systems as required.
* Assist with travel to different sites as needed with access to a vehicle and a full driving license.
Qualifications and requirements
* Good communication skills and enjoy working with people to deliver person-centred care.
* Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience is preferable, but full training will be provided.
* Ability to use IT systems.
* Access to a vehicle and possession of a full driving license is essential for occasional travel.
Working arrangements and pay
Family-friendly hours spread across Monday to Friday. From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week reduces from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata with a corresponding increase in hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
Pre-employment checks and right to work
* There is a legal requirement to demonstrate the right to work in the United Kingdom. NHS Scotland Boards will check entitlement to work as part of pre-employment checks (routes include visa types and EU settled/pre-settled status). Reference GOV.UK for details.
* From 1 April 2025, some roles may require different levels of PVG/Disclosure checks as part of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", you will be required to join PVG. If changes occur, the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team will confirm.
* For some posts, sponsorship via UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa may be possible if the employer is a licensed sponsor and if salary requirements are met.
