Aston Martin is seeking a Lead CAD Engineer - Chassis to support the design and integration of braking systems, wheel assemblies and tyre interfaces across our vehicle programmes. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, ensuring robust packaging and integration within the vehicle architecture from concept through to production.
Responsibilities
* Lead design of brake, wheel and tyre components (discs, callipers, hubs, hoses, fasteners, wheels)
* Ensure effective packaging considering kinematics, thermal, manufacturing and styling constraints
* Support concept to production delivery, including design reviews and engineering sign-off
* Apply DFM/DFA, GD&T and tolerance analysis
* Maintain CAD data quality, standards and configuration control
* Collaborate cross-functionally and integrate supplier CAD data
* Provide technical guidance to engineers and support high-quality drawing output
Qualifications
* Experience in automotive chassis CAD, ideally brakes, wheels and tyres
* Proficient in Siemens NX (or similar)
* Strong understanding of packaging, integration and vehicle systems
* Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis and lifecycle delivery (concept to SOP)
* Experience working with suppliers and CAD data management
* Exposure to suspension kinematics is desirable
