The Role – Trainee Roofing Surveyor
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mathematical ability who wants to build a career as an Estimator or Surveyor within the construction industry. The role is office‑based with regular site visits, and you must be comfortable travelling as required.
You will support the Estimating and Surveying function by:
* Reviewing roofing tender packages and understanding project requirements
* Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
* Attending site visits to carry out full measured surveys on pitched and flat roofs
* Completing take‑offs and preparing accurate estimates for roofing and associated works
* Assisting with the preparation of bids and ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant
Projects range from domestic properties to large commercial and public‑sector buildings, giving you broad exposure and hands‑on experience.
The Right Person
* Ideally some experience in construction, but not essential
* Strong mathematical ability
* GCSE Mathematics grade C (4/5) or above
* Good IT skills and confident using software
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communicator with a positive work ethic
* Keen to learn, develop and build a long‑term career in surveying or estimating
