IS Resource Manager
Location: RG7 4PR, between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £50,060 - £70,000 (depending on suitability, qualifications, and experience)
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight.
Clearance Level: You need to obtain and maintain DV security clearance. This is funded by AWE. Applicants must be British Citizens resident in the UK for the past 10 years to qualify for DV clearance.
Hybrid working is available, typically 2-3 days onsite per week.
Role Overview
AWE is recruiting a Resource Manager to support the Chief Information Officer group.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Plan future resource requirements based on projected work, capability, pipeline impact, and attrition levels.
2. Manage performance and development of individuals and teams to ensure service continuity and talent management for succession planning.
3. Monitor performance and resources via management information (e.g., absence, retention).
4. Develop and maintain a skills strategy aligned with SLT people plans.
5. Create a training strategy supporting the skills strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Liaise proactively with IS Leaders to understand requirements and facilitate resourcing decisions.
2. Ensure compliance with Resourcing Policy and standards.
3. Maintain a comprehensive Resource Plan reflecting supply and demand changes.
4. Work with HR to address skills and competency gaps, feeding into succession and talent frameworks.
5. Assess project/program changes and their organizational impacts.
6. Develop competency matrices with line managers.
7. Support succession and development planning.
8. Coordinate with other Resource Managers and services on resourcing issues.
9. Support recruitment, training, and development activities.
10. Perform any other duties aligned with the role as needed.
Candidate Profile:
Essential:
* Experience in Resource/Workforce Planning
* Knowledge of Workday ATS
Desirable:
* Understanding of the IT sector
