Qualified Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention – West Midlands | £33.30 per hour | Full-time (Agency Role)
Are you an experienced Social Worker passionate about making a real impact on the lives of children and families? We’re looking for a skilled professional to join a high-performing Assessment and Intervention Team in the West Midlands.

The Role
In this front-line position, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding children and promoting early intervention. You will:
* Carry out timely assessments of children and families under the Children Act 1989.
* Work directly with families to identify strengths and challenges, and co-produce tailored care plans.
* Respond to safeguarding concerns, including Section 47 enquiries, and progress cases to Initial Child Protection Conferences when needed.
* Collaborate with multi-agency partners — including health, education, and the police — to drive positive, sustainable outcomes.
* Link closely with early help teams to reduce the need for longer-term intervention.
* Promote safe, person-centred social care practices rooted in dignity, empowerment, and diversity.
You’ll be supported by an experienced and approachable Team Manager, within a stable team that values teamwork, reflection, and innovation.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a confident and capable practitioner who is:
* Registered with Social Work England
* 4+ years post-qualified (preferred)
* Experienced in child protection, risk assessment, and early intervention
* Knowledgeable of Children’s Services legislation, policy, and best practice
* Skilled in managing complex caseloads and engaging families in meaningful change
* Collaborative and confident working in multi-agency settings
* Emotionally intelligent, reflective, and solution-focused
* Committed to improving life chances for vulnerable children and families
