Quality Engineer
Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire area
Salary: £40k - £45k (potential to move slightly)
A large Aerospace Manufacturing company specialising in precision machining now require a Quality Engineer to join their team.
Job Role
* Stay up-to-date with regulations and ensure that all quality processes adhere to relevant standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
* Use problem‑solving tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5 whys to lead root‑cause investigations.
* Generate reports on quality performance and issues and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
* Maintain detailed records of quality inspections and tests.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
* Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
* Implement and maintain quality control processes and systems.
* Identify and address non‑conformities and deviations from quality standards.
* Develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures in compliance with standards and regulations.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to establish quality requirements for aerospace projects.
Core Skills Required
* Ideally hold a HNC, HND or BEng in Engineering.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross‑functional teams and customers.
* Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, SPC, 5WHY and Route Cause.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to thorough documentation.
* Relevant experience in quality engineering, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
* Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards and regulations (Not essential).
* Knowledge of statistical analysis tools for quality data.
