Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This is a permanent day-shift position ideal for someone with strong mechanical maintenance experience who enjoys problem-solving, improving equipment reliability, and supporting manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in keeping plant and equipment running efficiently, reducing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and introducing new systems and processes across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain plant and equipment, including CNC sewing machines, ultrasonic welders, spring winders, and more. Full training provided.
Diagnose issues and implement permanent corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Lead the introduction of a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) system and manage system sourcing within budget.
Produce jigs and fixtures in line with product requirements and customer expectations.
Specify, order, and manage parts, spares, and materials in collaboration with the GM.
Oversee sub-contractors and ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations.
Maintain Health & Safety standards for all machinery and equipment.
Support the creation and improvement of documentation, procedures, and SOPs.
Assist with the introduction of new products and associated machinery.
Provide technical support for customer visits and events, including travel within the UK and abroad.
Train operators on basic daily maintenance of machinery.
Be flexible in supporting production activities as required.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications: HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with safety-critical products.
Technical Skills:
Experience maintaining pneumatic machinery and diverse production equipment.
Competent in Microsoft Office and working with maintenance documentation.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Personal Qualities: Practical, confident, self-motivated, collaborative, and enthusiastic about engineering, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
