About The Team
Herts Legal provides legal support and advice to Hertfordshire County Council and various public and not-for-profit organizations across Hertfordshire. Our work includes Commercial, Planning & Environment, Property, Dispute Resolution, Adults, Education and Health, and Childcare Litigation. We are expanding our trainee cohort with a 'grow our own' approach to develop future lawyers.
About The Role
The training contract lasts two years, during which you will undertake up to four seats, each lasting six months, gaining diverse experience across our teams. This role offers exposure to both sector-specific work and in-house legal operations within a large organization. You will learn about governance and decision-making in a local authority setting.
The work is fast-paced and complex, requiring good organization, communication, and research skills. You will take on responsibilities early, managing your cases under supervision and supporting lawyers on complex projects. We will support your professional qualification process necessary to qualify as a solicitor.
About You
Essential:
* Completed a Qualifying Law Degree or CPE followed by the Legal Practice Course; or
* Completed a degree (law or other subject) and passed the SRA’s SQE1 and SQE2 assessments
Desirable:
* Previous paralegal experience preferred
