Project Engineer – Mechanical
Bristol – up to £40.43 per hour – 12 months – Virtual interview (1 stage) Mon–Fri
Certain Advantage is partnering with a key nuclear client to recruit a Project Engineer. You’ll provide fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions for projects or engineering support on more complex projects and ensure that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately.
What will you be doing?
* Determine and capture functional requirements along with stakeholder expectations for allocated projects.
* Assist in developing the Project Execution Plan, including approaches for design, safety case development, and commissioning.
* Contribute to the evaluation and selection of project options.
* Produce conceptual designs and deliver practical, fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions.
* Prepare and/or review and authorise technical specifications.
* Oversee detailed design work in line with established design authority requirements.
* Develop modification proposals when necessary, fulfilling the role of Nominated Responsible Engineer where assigned.
* Review and approve contractors’ technical documentation, such as method statements, work instructions, and risk assessments.
* Provide technical oversight during construction or dismantling activities to ensure adherence to design intent.
A couple of things you should know:
* Background in nuclear and/or conventional engineering project environments.
* Familiarity with applicable company and/or national engineering standards.
* Understanding of Safety Rules and practical application of risk assessment techniques.
* Awareness of Site Licence conditions and Quality Management System expectations.
During an interview, you may be asked about:
* Working knowledge of the CDM Designer role.
* Experience in contract management.
* Proven involvement in delivering engineering projects.
