The Special Education Needs (SEN) Service is seeking to recruit a Specialist Teacher (Soulbury 12-15). The post will be in the first instance fixed term until 31st March 2026. This is subject to funding. The post forms part of the Change Partnership Programme and will support our Local Inclusion Support Offer, to provide school teaching staff with curriculum ideas, adaptations and environmental changes to support pupils with complex SEN needs in mainstream primary school. This will be in line with the newly formed project team that will include a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Family Support Worker, Positive Behaviour Analyst, Speech and Language and Occupational Therapist. Through the creation of a support plan you will provide knowledge and skills to existing staff to enable them to meet the needs of SEN children. Part of the work will be to provide wider schools support to enable the school to support mainstream inclusion.
We are seeking a committed teacher who must have education and SEN experience and be able to communicate with; all school staff and health professionals to achieve the appropriate outcomes for children. You should have wider knowledge of education, health and social care support available to families and ensure that families are receiving the right support. We anticipate that you will be educated to degree level, have significant experience of the education, health, and social care system.
