About the Role
As a Graduate Sustainability Consultant you will have the opportunity to assist senior consultants and the wider team in the design process to acquire a detailed working knowledge of all industry areas. Where directed, you will carry out tasks and calculations in accordance with industry guides and make a key contribution to successful project delivery. You will assist and prepare reports and other deliverables and, with a keen eye for detail, become conversant with a broad range of sustainability and resiliency issues, including building, transport, and energy.
Responsibilities
* Assist senior consultants and colleagues with project tasks and production of high‑quality deliverables.
* Develop an understanding of the different building materials and techniques employed in design.
* Carry out calculations and develop a full understanding of relevant energy and sustainability principles.
* Maintain a Continuing Professional Development diary to assist in obtaining appropriate qualifications.
* Understand appropriate legislation standards, building regulations, and codes of practice.
* Learn and understand sustainability principles and develop awareness of other design disciplines.
* Maintain a training log, recording achievements and experience.
* Attend appropriate and relevant site visits and meetings as applicable to the role or the project.
* Attend relevant training as required by the practice to work towards Chartered status.
* Assist in maintaining QA systems on projects.
Requirements
* Degree in a relevant subject (energy, engineering, environmental) or equivalent experience.
* Good IT knowledge and experience with Microsoft packages.
* Personable and a ‘can do’ attitude with resource management experience.
* Clear, concise, professional and personable communication with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
* Ability to project a positive and professional attitude at all times.
* Knowledge of energy efficiency and carbon conversion factors is desirable.
* Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and with clients.
* Capable of working as part of a team and collaboratively and cooperatively.
