Overview
Be among the first 25 applicants. Cambridge Past, Present & Future is a local charity that protects the beauty of Cambridge and its environment. We care for the green setting of Cambridge and its most valuable landscapes, and we work to enhance and connect them for nature and people. We inspire people of all ages to get outdoors and help them to enjoy, learn about and get involved with their local environment, heritage and culture. We help to protect, celebrate and improve the important built heritage of the Cambridge area. We own and care for Wandlebury Country Park, Coton Countryside Reserve, Bourn Windmill, Hinxton Watermill and Cambridge Leper Chapel and we also manage Grantchester Meadows. We deliver a busy schools and public events programme. We were founded in 1928 to preserve the beauty of the historic city of Cambridge and its countryside setting and we work hard to influence the planning and development of the greater Cambridge area. We are a team of 17 staff (7 full- and 10 part-time/seasonal) supported by over 100 volunteers and assisted by field teachers, advisors, and service providers.
The Opportunity
We are at an exciting time of growth and transformation in Cambridge. We are tackling issues such as the loss of nature, climate change and access to green space, with new projects to expand habitats and green spaces on the Gog Magog Hills, create a new wetland at our Coton Reserve, plant trees and woodlands, and preserve one of Cambridge’s oldest buildings. We need the financial resources to step up and make a greater difference.
We are seeking an experienced fundraiser to increase income from mid-level and major donors, trusts and foundations, and legacies. You will use donor cultivation skills to strengthen relationships, apply research and networking to identify opportunities, and develop compelling proposals for funders. Your written development skills will help you work with colleagues to turn visions into proposals and ensure an excellent donor experience. You will also handle administrative and reporting requirements for funded work.
You will work alongside our Membership & Communications Manager and receive support from our Administrative Assistant, the CEO, trustees, volunteers and external contractors. You will be part of a friendly management team where your work can make a difference.
Our office is in an 18th century building overlooking the Wandlebury estate, located on the Gog Magog Hills just south of Cambridge.
