The Role We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented General Workshop Engineer to join our small team. This is a varied role combining practical workshop engineering with customer-facing and administrative support. You will work with a range of machinery and tools, including lapping machines, lathes, milling machines, and handheld tools, primarily focusing on the refurbishment and inspection of mechanical seals. In addition, you will support customer enquiries by phone, email, and at the trade counter. Training will be provided; however, prior experience with mechanical tools and seal assembly/disassembly would be an advantage. Key Responsibilities Refurbishing mechanical seals using workshop machinery Inspecting new seals for quality prior to dispatch Managing stock levels and inventory Handling customer enquiries via phone and email, including order processing Serving customers at the trade counter and providing basic technical assistance Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and safety in the workshop What Were Looking For Experience using handheld and manual tools Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work Good computer literacy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Initiative and problem-solving skills Excellent telephone manner and written communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organised
