We are seeking a faithful, prayerful and community-minded priest to become the next Vicar of St Ann’s, Rainhill, and to serve as Area Dean of St Helens.
You will lead a vibrant church at the heart of a growing village community and develop its witness and mission, while also contributing to the life and leadership of the wider deanery in collaboration with clergy and lay colleagues.
Situated in the heart of the village, St Ann’s Church is a welcoming, active and much-loved church, deeply embedded in local life. Rainhill is a thriving village on the edge of St Helens, with excellent transport links to Liverpool (just 12 miles away) and a growing population of around 16,000.
The church has strong links with St Ann’s Church of England Primary School (rated Good by Ofsted) and hosts a wide range of services, events and community activities, including partnerships with ecumenical churches and the neighbouring St Ann’s Millennium Centre.
We’re looking for:
* A collaborative and confident leader in mission
* A pastor who brings warmth, humility and a heart for people
* Someone excited by parish ministry and who also wants to contribute more widely to the life of the deanery and diocese
We offer:
* A supportive and prayerful church community
* Committed lay leaders and volunteers
* A comfortable vicarage in a desirable location
This is a full-time stipendiary appointment with housing provided in St Ann’s Vicarage.
Closing Date: Sunday 26th October
Interview Date: November (date to be confirmed)
We are continuing our work to actively increase the diversity of those working in the diocese and in pursuit of that we are using anonymous shortlisting.
