This Program Director will develop content, programs, and experiences for several major Gartner Technology conferences, delivering "must-attend" events for the roles and markets they serve.
Responsibilities
* Own one or more conferences and drive growth, profitability, and customer retention through strategically defined event strategies.
* Create audience-driven conference agendas that address market needs in close partnership with Gartner Research chairs.
* Collaborate with Gartner Research & Insights, Audience Acquisition/Marketing, Exhibitor/Sponsorship Sales, Conference Operations/Logistics, and other Gartner business units.
* Develop client-focused programs delivering the highest results.
* Identify and secure keynote speakers, panelists, and case-study presenters.
* Conduct primary and secondary market research to understand client needs, behaviors, and industry trends.
* Define target audience and positioning for assigned conferences.
* Work with Exhibitor Products to create and deliver sponsorship opportunities and related content.
* Assess competitive events, including attendance at those events.
* Co-create conference strategy with global partners and stakeholders.
* Advocate for conferences to internal and external constituents.
* Innovate conference formats, content, and attendee experiences.
* Partner with Events Marketing to craft compelling messaging and campaigns that drive growth and retention.
* Partner with Events Sales to identify and close prospective exhibitors, articulating the value proposition.
* Collaborate with Event Operations to ensure a high-quality attendee and sponsor experience that is cost-effective.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.
* 8-12+ years of experience in conference management or content-rich program planning/creation.
* Experience managing large, complex, multi-day/multi-track conferences.
* Proven ability to shape conference content strategy, agenda development, and speaker management.
* Experience driving or supporting audience acquisition and sponsorship sales.
* Track record of developing and executing growth strategies and identifying market opportunities.
* Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills in a matrix environment.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to influence.
* Global or multinational experience preferred.
* Strong multi-project management, prioritization, and time-management skills.
* Familiarity with AI, data, and analytics.
* Willingness to travel moderately, including international travel.
* Ability to engage effectively with C-level executives.
