We have an exciting new B7 occupational therapy role in our Forensic team in Surrey. The Forensic Outreach Liaison Service is dedicated to supporting individuals with complex needs who have engaged in offending behaviour, helping them build hopeful, meaningful lives through recovery-focused mental health interventions. The occupational therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, coordinated CPD programme including supervision, care group and trust wide training, core competence training, and annual conferences.
Job Overview
* To provide compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and therapy assistants
* To strengthen and actively contribute to the overall leadership of the service
* To communicate effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders, and agencies
* To assess and contribute to the formulation and diagnosis of individuals referred to the Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service
* To provide high quality and evidence-based occupational therapy assessment intervention and consultation to people with complex needs who access services and their carers/supporters/family members, in line with occupational therapy and service pathways
* To provide supervision and mentoring to occupational therapists within the occupational therapy service
* To ensure the delivery of occupational therapy student placements
* To actively contribute to the continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities within the wider occupational therapy service
* Supporting the team managers and clinical leads in the development and delivery of effective services
* To provide an audit of occupational therapy services within the directorate and to link in with local, regional, and national occupational therapy networks
