Job Title: Automatic Gate & Barrier Call-Out / Service Engineer
Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per year

Location: Field-based (South East – Sussex, Surrey, Kent)
About the Role
An established and growing access solutions provider is seeking an experienced Automatic Gate & Barrier Service Engineer. The business delivers installation, maintenance, and repair services for residential, educational, and commercial clients, with a strong focus on customer service and long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance on automatic gates, barriers, and access control systems
* Diagnose faults and perform repairs on automated systems
* Service and maintain gate and barrier equipment
* Attend call-outs and complete reactive repairs
* Conduct force testing and risk assessments
* Complete safety reports and documentation
* Perform on-site troubleshooting and problem-solving
Requirements
* Minimum 2–3 years’ experience servicing gates and barriers
* Experience with gate automation systems such as: BFT, BPT, CAME, DEA, FAAC, FADINI, GIBIDI, NICE, AES, VIDEX, TELGUARD
* Welding experience (desirable but not essential)
* DHF or Gate Safe qualification (desirable but not essential)
* Strong mechanical, electrical, and fault-finding skills
Candidate Profile
* Proficient in servicing, maintaining, and repairing automated gate systems
* Able to read and follow technical manuals and program control boards
* Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
* Good communication and customer service abilities
* Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
