Supporting the delivery of our various construction projects while working\ntowards an SVQ in Carpentry/Joinery at SCQF Level 6. \n\nThis apprenticeship follows the principle of âEarn While You Learnâ, offering you the opportunity to gain practical experience and formal qualifications simultaneously. ⢠Assisting our experienced joiners in creating and installing wooden components, such as roof trusses, doors, window frames, staircases, kitchen and bathroom fittings, fitted furniture, stud partition wall frame systems, and flooring systems including joists and floorboards\n⢠Developing proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings\n⢠Gaining hands-on experience with both traditional woodworking techniques and modern power tools\n⢠Learning to select appropriate materials and estimate quantities required for each job\n⢠Adhering to strict health and safety protocols on-site and in college environments\n⢠Working effectively with other trades to ensure smooth project progression\n⢠Developing problem-solving skills to address unforeseen challenges during construction\n⢠Progressively taking on more responsibility as skills and knowledge expand\n⢠Balancing on-site practical work with off-site study to achieve the SVQ qualification\n⢠Participating in regular performance reviews and setting personal development goals\n⢠Contributing to the companyâs commitment to sustainability by minimising waste and using While there are no formal academic requirements, we seek candidates who are passionate about construction, with a genuine interest in carpentry and joinery. This apprenticeship combines practical training with college attendance, providing the skills and knowledge needed to become a skilled tradesperson.\n\nSuccessful candidates must obtain a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card to work on Ashleigh sites, and we will guide you through this process, including the mandatory Health, Safety and Environment test.\n\nThis qualification is widely recognised throughout the UK construction industry.\n\n
