Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle &; Plant Mechanic to support its vehicle maintenance operations at our flagship workshop in Dumfries. You'll be part of a professional, well-organised team working in a modern, fully equipped facility.

Your Role You’ll be responsible for maintaining the Council’s wide-ranging fleet, which includes:
9. Small plant equipment
10. Trailers
11. HGVs and buses
12. Minibuses, vans, and cars
13. Specialist vehicles used in front-line operations
Tasks will include scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, test preparation, and repairs in line with Transport and Health & Safety legislation. There is also potential to train as a Class IV, V, and VII MOT tester.
Additional Requirements
14. Flexibility to support overtime and participate in a standby rota as needed
15. Full driving licence is essential
16. LGV/PSV licence is desirable
