We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor to join our respiratory team at Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, at a specialist registrar level.
FTE: 0.5 (2.5 days per week + 0.5 FTE on calls). The role is ideal for a doctor with full Royal College of Physicians membership (MRCP Part 1, Part 2, PACES) who is enthusiastic about respiratory medicine and committed to general medical care.
Responsibilities
* Ward-based care of 19 patients on 4 South (including a 4-bedded ARU).
* Periodic support on the Acute Medicine ward.
* Clerking new admissions and providing out-of-hours (evening and weekend) ward cover.
* Participate in daily board and ward rounds, complete tasks from the ward round.
* Attend weekly radiology meetings.
* Work as part of a consultant-led team comprising 7 consultants, 4 registrars, 3 SHOs and 2 FY1s.
* No obligation to attend respiratory outpatient clinics or procedure lists; interest is encouraged.
* Take patient history, examine, identify problems, prescribe safely, maintain accurate records, manage time and priorities, communicate effectively, use evidence and guidelines, act professionally, handle ethical/legal issues, educate patients, teach junior colleagues and students.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Full Royal College of Physicians membership (MRCP Part 1, Part 2, PACES).
* Enthusiastic about respiratory medicine.
* Willingness to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.
* Respiratory experience desirable but not essential.
* Full COVID‑19 vaccination required as a condition of employment (subject to review).
* Ability to work flexibly, including part‑time or job‑share arrangements.
