We are recruiting on behalf of an award-winning sustainability consultancy that works with some of the UK’s leading housebuilders and property developers, providing specialist energy and sustainability advice across the construction industry.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an OCDEA-qualified Sustainability Consultant to join their expanding team. This fully remote role will focus on delivering SAP assessments and EPCs for residential developments, helping clients achieve compliance with Building Regulations and sustainability requirements while supporting the delivery of energy-efficient developments.
The Role
As a Sustainability Consultant, you will deliver SAP assessments and EPCs for residential developments, working closely with developers, architects, and design teams to ensure sustainability and compliance requirements are achieved throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Produce SAP assessments and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to support compliance with relevant Building Regulations
Support clients in meeting Section 6 energy compliance requirements
Manage projects, tracking progress against deadlines and coordinating project inputs
Engage with clients, architects, and design teams to ensure sustainability requirements are met
Prepare energy and sustainability reports to support planning and land acquisition stages
Deliver high-quality consultancy and technical advice across residential developments
Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure clients receive timely and accurate assessmentsCandidate Requirements
Accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA)
Strong understanding of Building Regulations in Scotland, particularly Section 6 (Domestic) and awareness of overheating requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment
Strong IT and analytical skills with a solid general education (particularly in Maths, Science, and English)Desirable
Accreditation to deliver SAP assessments in England and Wales
Accreditation to deliver Section 6 – Certificate of Design (Domestic)
NVQ/SVQ Level IV (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline
Experience preparing building warrant submissions
Experience developing energy and sustainability strategies at planning stage
Knowledge of non-residential development
Ability to interpret technical drawings and visualise designs in 3D
Familiarity with M&E specificationsWhat’s on Offer
