SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary Support Location: Exeter Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only Pay Rate: £85 - £95 per day Role We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting young people with Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and a range of learning difficulties. You'll work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to help students develop confidence, resilience, and a love for learning through both academic and emotional support. Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs. Help pupils manage emotions and build resilience through positive engagement. Assist in delivering tailored intervention programmes and track student progress. Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to ensure every learner thrives. Requirements Experience working with young people in an educational or care setting. Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills. A resilient, patient, and proactive approach to supporting others. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
