Company Description Private Therapy Clinic is a UK-based psychological service providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health and neurodevelopmental assessments across the UK and Ireland. Our multidisciplinary team includes HCPC-registered psychologists, psychiatrists, BABCP-accredited CBT therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Nurses, and specialist neurodiversity practitioners.
We deliver ethical, clinically robust autism and ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and young people, operating within clear governance frameworks and multidisciplinary decision-making processes. All diagnoses are confirmed through a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and best practice.
Role Description We are recruiting Psychological Therapists, Psychology Graduates, Neurodiversity Practitioners, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Mental Health Nurses to join our in-person assessment team in Suffolk .
This role focuses on conducting ADOS-2 assessments and contributing to ADHD assessment pathways for children and adolescents. You will not be responsible for making diagnoses. Instead, you will complete structured assessments and detailed clinical reports that are presented to a multidisciplinary team, where final diagnostic decisions are made by senior clinicians (e.g. consultant psychologists or psychiatrists).
Full ADOS-2 training and role-specific onboarding will be provided, regardless of professional background.
Key Responsibilities Carry out in-person ADOS-2 assessments with children and adolescents
Support ADHD assessments through structured assessment tasks, observations, and information gathering
Produce clear, accurate, and evidence-based assessment reports
Present findings to the multidisciplinary team for diagnostic discussion
Work collaboratively within a multi-professional MDT
Engage sensitively with children, young people, and families
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical practice
Ensure all documentation meets clinical governance and data protection standards
Scope of Practice (Important) This role does not include diagnosing autism or ADHD
All assessment findings inform MDT discussions
Diagnostic responsibility remains with senior clinicians
Clear supervision and escalation pathways are in place
Essential Qualifications & Background Applicants must hold one of the following :
Degree in Psychology
Qualification as a Psychological Therapist
Speech & Language Therapist (HCPC registered or equivalent)
Occupational Therapist (HCPC registered or equivalent)
Mental Health Nurse (NMC registered or equivalent)
Recognised qualification in neurodiversity or mental health
Additional essential criteria:
Experience or strong interest in working with children and adolescents
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow structured assessment protocols
Professional, reflective, and collaborative working style
Willingness to complete ADOS-2 training and work under MDT supervision
Desirable Experience Experience working with autistic and/or ADHD children or young people
Familiarity with neurodevelopmental assessment tools or structured observations
Background in CAMHS, education, paediatrics, or community services
Psychology graduates seeking hands-on clinical assessment experience
