Join our community nursing team in East Surrey, based in Redhill, Oxted and Caterham. As a band 5 nurse you will provide nursing care for a wide range of conditions in patients’ own homes and residential settings, and you will be supported by the Clinical Lead, your line manager and the team to fulfil your role.
The District Nursing teams operate between 08:00 and 18:00, including the core day shift and a late shift. Full‑time and part‑time hours are available.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised care for patients under the direction of a Clinical Team Lead and District Nurse.
You will work in close collaboration with health and social care professionals within the neighbourhood to prevent patients being admitted to hospital.
You will provide advice and support to junior staff and students in the delivery of effective, high‑quality care.
Job responsibilities
This role is to provide nursing care and treatment to adults and their families in their own home or residential setting within a neighbourhood, as part of the District Nursing service. You will deliver skilled nursing care within the framework of the NMC Code, promoting a healthy lifestyle and self‑care where possible.
Skills
* Ability to assess, deliver and evaluate quality care.
* Teaching clinical skills.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN1).
* Practice Assessor.
Other
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Able to work competently without supervision.
* Responsible for own professional development.
* Car driver with a valid licence to drive in the UK and business use insurance.
Experience
* Experience gained during pre‑registration training.
* Community nursing experience.
* Previous experience of day‑to‑day management.
Knowledge
* Understanding of current issues affecting NHS services.
* Involvement in programmes of quality care.
* Understanding of risk management.
* Understanding of clinical governance.

Salary
£32,073 to £39,043 a year + 5% HCAS per annum, pro rata.
