Looking for a new challenge? Southend Care Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Shared Lives Service Manager to lead and develop our CQC-rated ‘Good’ Shared Lives Services.
The Shared Lives scheme supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or other needs that make independent living challenging. Approved carers provide accommodation and assistance, enabling individuals to live in a family environment, either long-term, on respite, or for day support, fostering community integration and fulfilling lives.
As the registered manager, you will oversee daily operations, support and develop the team, and ensure quality support from Shared Lives Carers.
You will proactively develop the service by raising awareness locally and regionally, and drive recruitment and development of Shared Lives Carers.

Key responsibilities include:
* Providing high-quality shared lives support to promote independence and positive outcomes in a family setting.
* Leading social workers and carers, clarifying duties, and ensuring they have the support needed, in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Promoting the rights and wishes of individuals supported by the scheme.
* Managing safety and quality in line with legislative, regulatory, and organizational standards.
* Collaborating with the Council’s Quality Improvement Team and Commissioning leads to develop continuous quality improvement and service growth.
It is desirable that you possess a Degree in Social Work, Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent, knowledge of adult social care legislation and CQC requirements, and an understanding of Shared Lives ethos.
