Senior Manager – Accountancy Practice
We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated
Senior Manager
to join our growing accountancy practice. This role is ideal for a qualified professional with strong practice experience who is ready to take ownership of client relationships, lead teams, and contribute to the continued development of a progressive and ambitious firm.
You will manage a varied client portfolio, oversee the delivery of statutory accounts, audit, corporation tax and VAT services, and play a key role in mentoring junior staff and improving internal processes. Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and timely resolution of queries
* Prepare, review, and finalise statutory accounts and corporation tax returns with minimal supervision
* Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns and manage VAT registrations
* Supervise payroll processes and provide guidance on compliance-related matters
* Review work prepared by junior team members, offering mentoring, training, and constructive feedback
* Manage deadlines and workflow to ensure all regulatory and reporting requirements are met
* Identify and implement improvements to internal systems, controls, and working practices to enhance efficiency
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* ACA or ACCA qualification with
6–10 years' post-qualification experience
in an accountancy practice
* Strong technical expertise in UK accounting and reporting standards, including
FRS 102, FRS 105, and UK GAAP
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships
* Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, or developing junior staff
* Working knowledge of
Xero, Sage, and CCH
* Strong IT skills, including a high level of proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
