About Us
We are a UK-based manufacturer supplying specialist industrial materials and solutions to sectors including manufacturing, fabrication, energy, and heavy industry. Our products solve real-world problems — heat, abrasion, fire protection — and are used by customers across the UK and Europe. We are growing and looking for a practical, people-focused salesperson to help drive that growth.
The Role
This is a field-based role covering a large UK territory (roughly Lincolnshire across to South Wales).
-You will spend around 3 days per week on the road, with the remaining time split between home and our Elland office. Regular UK travel is required, including overnight stays.
-This is not a desk-based role.
-You will be calling into workshops, fabrication shops and trade counters, as well as meeting engineers, buyers and Managing Directors. Some days will be quick, informal visits. Others will be more structured meetings. You need to be comfortable doing both.
What You Will Be Doing
-Building new business through proactive visits and outreach
-Managing and growing existing customer accounts
-Following up website and internal enquiries
-Identifying opportunities to get products specified into projects
-Building relationships at all levels, from shop floor to senior management
-Planning and managing your own territory
What We Are Looking For
You must be:
-Confident, personable and easy to talk to
-Happy to walk into a business and start a conversation
-Comfortable with rejection and able to keep going
-Persistent, but in a natural and likeable way (not pushy)
-Able to build rapport with anyone, from welders to directors
-Self-motivated and organised
-If you do not enjoy face-to-face selling or knocking on doors, this role is not for you.
You will likely have:
-Experience in field sales or customer-facing roles
-A track record of building relationships and winning business
-Experience managing your own territory
-Industry experience is not essential but preferred — we can teach you the products. Sales attitude and personality matter more.
