Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Fashion Designer to join the team at Box Menswear in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to design for a globally recognised menswear brand, with a primary focus on underwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
Our customers are predominantly part of the LGBTQI+ community, and we celebrate creativity, inclusivity, and bold designs.
Box Menswear is a dynamic e-commerce brand specialising in men’s underwear and clothing. We pride ourselves on creating unique, high-quality designs and fostering a collaborative, fun, and forward-thinking work environment.
This role is full-time (37.5 hours p/w) and for a start date as soon as possible. We understand reasonable notice periods may need to be honoured for the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design innovative and stylish menswear, with a focus on underwear, swimwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
* Create and assemble detailed Tech Packs for overseas suppliers, ensuring clarity and precision.
* Regularly communicate with overseas suppliers regarding garment and sample amendments.
* Oversee the sampling process, from concept to completion, and enjoy seeing your designs go global.
* Collaborate closely with the team to refine ideas and deliver standout collections.
* Conduct regular trend and market analysis.
* Ensure your designs are commercially viable with the brand's position.
* Collaborate cross-functionally and leverage transferable skills to effectively represent the brand and translate designs into impactful digital representations. Graphic Design will form part of this role.
What We Need From You:
* A strong passion for and experience in fashion design, ideally in men's apparel.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) with a working knowledge of InDesign.
* Confidence and experience in creating Tech Packs for suppliers.
* A collaborative, free-thinking mindset with the ability to contribute to group ideas.
* A positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
What Will Set You Apart (desirable but not essential):
* An excitement for the commercial side of fashion design, including supplier relationships and negotiation.
* A keen interest in the global reach of your designs.
* Previous travel experience meeting suppliers abroad.
* Foundational knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel.
Why Join Us?
* Hybrid working (3 days in office/ 2 WFH).
* Flexible working environment. You can start work between 8 am and 9 am and finish between 4 pm and 5 pm.
* Potential for international travel to supplier locations (e.g., China, Turkey) and attendance at global trade shows (e.g., Tokyo, Las Vegas).
* Be part of a small team where achievements are shared and celebrated collectively.
* Enjoy a relaxed workplace culture that values creativity, inclusivity, and collaboration.
* Opportunities for growth and progression; your ability and achievements will be recognised and rewarded.
* Competitive Holiday Package.
* Staff Discounts.
Additional Information:
* This role is full-time and hybrid based in Speke, Liverpool, with free on-site parking.
* We are looking for an in-house designer; at this time, we will not be accepting candidates based on freelance/self-employed basis.
* Please note that the role involves exposure to male bodies in underwear during product development and photoshoots.
* You will be the only Designer on the team initially, but we hope to grow the internal design team with further development in the future.
We are open to candidates from all backgrounds and value capability and creativity over formal education. If this sounds like the perfect role for you, we’d love to hear from you!
Box Menswear is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment. If you require accommodations during the application process, please let us know, and we will assist.
This role is designed to transition into a hybrid work model. For the first four weeks, you will be based in the office for onboarding. After this, you will have the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, with three days in the office, upon agreement with your manager.
