Minimally invasive surgery is well established within the colorectal team including transanal microsurgery (TEM) and robotic-assisted colorectal surgery. There are separate specialty rotas for seven-day services, and the successful candidate will contribute to both the general surgery emergency rota (1 in 12) and the colorectal weekend and Bank Holiday rotas. The Trust conducts out-patient and elective surgical activity at New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital. As part of the team, you will be expected to participate in delivering services on both sites. There will be exciting opportunities to engage with research and education in the colorectal unit and on a wider regional basis. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high level of competence across all aspects of acute and elective colorectal surgery. The successful applicant should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT / CESR at the time of interview which is being held on 2nd February 2023.
