Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to work in our team of Geomatics Analysts. You will be working as part of a small team processing survey data to support the delivery of our National Elevation Data Programmes, using specialist software, GIS and state‑of‑the‑art Remote Sensing survey instrumentation such as our Airborne LIDAR Terrain Mapper.
Key Responsibilities
* Process, quality control and analyse survey data supporting the National Elevation Data Programmes.
* Use specialist GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap) to work with large and complex mapping datasets, preferably Airborne LIDAR.
* Carry out quality control procedures on LIDAR datasets and derived Digital Elevation Models.
* Support the co‑delivery of monitoring requirements across National & Area teams.
* Travel to the Geomatics team hub base in Bath when required and attend in‑person interviews at our Bath office.
Key Qualifications
* Relevant degree in Geography, GIS, Environment or another scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Practical experience and broad GIS skills using ESRI products.
* Experience with large complex mapping datasets, preferably Airborne LIDAR.
* Experience processing and quality controlling LIDAR datasets and DEMs.
* Remote Sensing techniques, analytical and problem‑solving skills, good attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and communication skills; able to work unsupervised to meet deadlines.
Contract Length
17 months – up to March 2027
