Pioneer Talent has been exclusively retained to identify an exceptional Children’s Home Manager for a respected and high-performing provider of residential care for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The service delivers trauma-informed, therapeutic support to children who may have experienced significant adversity and are at high risk of harm.

The Role
As Home Manager, you will lead a stable and experienced team in delivering consistently high standards of care. The young people in the home present with complex needs, and your leadership will ensure they receive therapeutic, safe, and nurturing support.
Key responsibilities include:
* Overall operational management and leadership of the home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations
* Oversight of care planning, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance (Regs 44 and 45)
* Leading, mentoring and developing the team – supported by two Deputies
* Liaising with families, professionals, and placing authorities to ensure positive outcomes
* Embedding and role-modelling therapeutic approaches including PACE and NVR
* Managing audits, budgets, staffing, and training compliance
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an emotionally intelligent, trauma-informed leader who understands the weight and privilege of caring for vulnerable children.
Essential:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working toward)
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s home, with 1+ in a management role
* Strong understanding of the Children’s Act 2004, SCCIF, and safeguarding
* Experience with trauma-informed care and positive behaviour support (PACE/NVR)
* Proven ability to lead teams, manage rotas and ensure full compliance
Desirable:
* Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
* Clinical understanding of attachment, complex trauma, and risk management
* Comfortable working with autonomy and decision-making authority
