Summary We are seeking a passionate Platform Community Manager to curate impactful relationships with the ambitious leadership teams in our portfolio companies and wider non-executive network. This is a key role for Mercia Ventures, significantly contributing to our value creation strategy by facilitating connections and knowledge sharing across the ecosystem to support portfolio growth. This is a hybrid role and you could be based in our Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or London offices. About the role We’re looking for someone who is excited to foster a tech led approach, leveraging AI, to support a founder community at scale that delivers measurable value to our portfolio companies leadership teams. This role is about creating high-touch relationships through network building, communications, events, partnerships and more. You will report to the Head of Value Creation and will work closely with our marketing team. Primary responsibilities include: Serve as a key point of contact for portfolio company founders, strategic industry partners and internal stakeholders with regards to our Platform & community environment. Building relationships with the leadership teams and non-executive network across our portfolio, identifying ways to provide impact and support their growth Supporting onboarding of new portfolio companies to introduce them to our Platform and developing creative opportunities to expose them to our wider ecosystem Fostering networking opportunities by managing & hosting in-person events, from webinars, small dinners to large-scale summits Drafting internal and external communications, such as newsletters, blog posts and social media to support knowledge sharing Maintaining a self-service digital resource centre (using the tech platform Circle) Identify and vet the best portfolio resources and preferred partner relationships Contribute deal origination by expanding the community to prospective portfolio companies The ideal candidate will have most the qualities and experience listed below Relevant experience in a role such as community, operations or platform organisations such as startups, accelerators or the broader venture community High EQ and ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders Ability to prioritise and manage concurrent projects well and highly attentive to detail Strong communication skills, written and verbal, including the ability to work seamlessly with everyone, from members of our team to portfolio founders and senior executives Entrepreneurial, autonomous and eager to experiment with new technologies Eagerness has embraced AI as emerging tech and has experimented and/or some experience with range of AI tools. Tracking usage, engagement, and ROI of platform initiatives using dashboards and lightweight data analysis.
