Overview
Practice Specialist Social Worker, Adolescent Service – Sanctuary Personnel. Full time position based in Wandsworth. Salary up to £53,336 per annum.
This role involves leading practice improvement within the Adolescent Service, delivering supervision, coaching and development activities to social work colleagues, and ensuring high standards of service delivery in line with relevant frameworks and legislation.
Responsibilities
* Actively promote and lead the embedding of the vision of the Outstanding Practice Framework across Children’s Social Care, requiring knowledge and skills in systemic practice and its application to social work.
* Hold a small portfolio of complex cases, including co-working complex cases with less experienced colleagues.
* Lead group reflective supervision spaces with teams and for social workers.
* Provide coaching to social workers in areas of practice improvement.
* Audit practice where improvement is needed and develop improvement plans.
* Devise, develop and deliver practice workshops around identified areas of improvement arising from audits, including monitoring the impact of practice development.
* Collaborate with colleagues in quality assurance and training & development to embed practice improvement, monitor impact and disseminate learning.
* Work closely with the designated Service Cluster and the Principal Social Worker to provide practice leadership, respond swiftly to practice improvements and monitor impact.
* Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues to ensure children and families receive outstanding quality service across Children’s Social Care.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national legislation to brief practitioners, teams and designated service areas on changes, including duties and responsibilities arising from the Children Act, threshold applications for children in need and children at risk of significant harm; Children Act 2004; and care planning, fostering and adoption guidance related to young people looked after.
* Demonstrate excellent knowledge of theory, frameworks, practice approaches, research and evidence-based interventions underpinning effective social work practice.
* Work closely with and support the implementation of Family Safeguarding in Wandsworth, developing practice opportunities for social workers working with multidisciplinary colleagues.
Requirements
* A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Social Work England registered.
