Position: Workshop Manager
Location: Leeds, Greater Leeds
Salary: £45-55K
We're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the technical delivery and day-to-day operation of our engine department. This is a hands-on role, combining engine build work with team leadership, scheduling, and continuous improvement.
What you'll do
Own delivery of engine rebuilds and refreshes to schedule and quality targets
Be hands-on with engine builds when required
Set and manage the workshop plan, resources, and priorities
Lead engine failure analysis and non-conformance actions
Manage dyno operations, ECU/data analysis, and technical support
Drive department efficiency, productivity, and H&S standards
Lead, develop, and performance-manage the engine team
Create and maintain SOPs, quality standards, and training plans
Work closely with R&D, production, quality, and operationsWhat we're looking for
Hands-on experience building, rebuilding, and tuning automotive engines
Proven workshop leadership or management experience in a main dealership or similar environment
Strong diagnostic skills, including data analysis
Confident communicator with a practical, delivery-focused mindset
Comfortable using ERP systems and MS OfficeThis role suits someone who enjoys leading from the front, takes ownership of standards and results, and wants real influence over how a high-performance engine workshop runs.
