Band 5 Occupational Therapist – Glenfield Hospital
We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our therapy team at Glenfield Hospital. The role focuses on managing a caseload across the cardiology wards, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes and facilitate timely discharges.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own clinical caseload from assessment to discharge/transfer of care within defined protocols.
* Carry out functional assessments, treatments, and interventions to enable safe and effective patient discharges.
* Work with patients who may have complex needs, including physical, psychological, and communication difficulties.
* Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of cardiology and respiratory conditions.
* Collaborate closely with physiotherapists and other occupational therapists, sharing skills and competencies across specialties.
* Coordinate care with Social Services, NHS Community Occupational Therapists, and other community agencies regarding equipment, treatment, and support at discharge.
* Adhere to the Royal College of Occupational Therapists code of professional conduct.
* Participate in regular clinical supervision, one-to-one meetings, appraisal processes, and a preceptorship programme.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
* Strong communication and time‑management skills, capable of working independently and within a team.
* Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and professionally with patients, carers, and families.
