Job Description
Join the University of Edinburgh as an Undergraduate Tutor for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (Edinburgh Futures Institute). This fixed‑term role, based on a PhD student contract for the 2025-26 academic session, involves teaching interdisciplinary undergraduate courses delivered by EFI.
Grade: UE06 – £34,610 to £39,906 per annum (pro rata). Guaranteed hours and a clear curriculum are outlined at here (link removed).
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tuition to undergraduate students on specific subject areas, stimulating discussion and debate.
* Assist students in extracting key learning outcomes and foster an inclusive learning environment.
* Contribute to programme design and assessment where required.
* Support the development of course material and resources in line with EFI’s interdisciplinary approach.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience of interdisciplinary teaching and/or research.
* Capability to lead and coordinate groups, including understanding the needs of individual students and providing appropriate guidance.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
* Understanding of the basic principles of teaching, learning and assessment.
* Expertise in a specific research methodology (Data Collection and Analysis, Creative Practice, or Cultural Analysis).
