Job Title: 1:1 Secondary Tutor (School & Home-Based) – Wellingborough Area Location: Wellingborough and surrounding areas Job Type: Part-time / Flexible Hours: During school hours Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience Full Job Description We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Secondary Tutor to support students across the Wellingborough area. This role involves delivering personalised tuition either within school settings or in pupils’ homes during school hours. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting secondary-aged students and helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions aligned with the secondary curriculum (KS3–KS4) Support students in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or Science Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs, including SEN Support students with GCSE preparation where required Build positive and supportive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence Monitor progress and provide feedback Adhere to safeguarding and compliance procedures at all times Requirements Minimum of 2 years’ UK teaching or tutoring experience (secondary level) Strong knowledge of the UK secondary curriculum (KS3–KS4) Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule Desirable Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing a PGCE (Secondary) Experience supporting SEN students or those with additional needs Subject specialism in English, Maths, or Science Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle What We Offer Flexible working hours Competitive pay rates Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Opportunities for consistent, long-term work Schedule: Monday to Friday Day shifts (during school hours) Work Location: In person (school settings and/or pupils’ homes) If you are passionate about making a difference in secondary education, we would love to hear from you.
