Role Summary
This role will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing activity and managing key stakeholder and supplier relationships within the Technology spend category. The role focuses on driving savings, value, innovation, and compliance, supporting wider business objectives through collaboration and effective supplier management.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute category and supplier strategies aligned with business goals.
2. Create and maintain a pipeline to forecast savings over 12-24 months.
3. Deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, and value-add opportunities.
4. Conduct spend analysis, market assessments, and identify opportunities.
5. Lead sourcing activities including tendering, negotiating, and contracting.
6. Collaborate with Supplier Risk Management to ensure effective governance of key suppliers.
7. Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders.
8. Engage early in projects to align commercial, operational, and strategic objectives.
9. Set expectations and KPIs for strategic suppliers.
10. Identify and implement supplier-led innovations.
11. Lead Supplier Relationship Management with key suppliers to manage risks and ensure compliance.
12. Set objectives and coach team members for growth.
13. Promote knowledge sharing and capability development within the procurement team.
14. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Skills, Capabilities, and Attributes
* CIPS qualification is desirable.
* Proven experience in procurement Category Management, especially in Technology.
* Understanding of procurement processes and systems.
* Ability to translate business needs into effective relationship management strategies.
* Track record of achieving targets.
* Strong contract management skills, including SLAs and KPIs.
* Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
* Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
* Knowledge of contract performance management.
* Analytical skills with experience in procurement data and reporting.
* Awareness of regulatory requirements.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to promote procurement benefits.
