Renowned for delivering high-quality ecological advice and practical environmental solutions, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their growing team.
The Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to work in one of the most ecologically diverse and scenic regions in the UK. From Caledonian pine forests and coastal dunes to wetlands, uplands, and river systems, the Inverness area offers an abundance of habitats and species, making it an exciting and inspiring location for any ecologist.
As a Senior Ecologist, you will lead and manage a range of ecological surveys, assessments, and reports across projects in sectors such as infrastructure, renewables, and development. You’ll help shape environmentally responsible solutions while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate ecological surveys, assessments, and reporting
* Deliver ecological input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA)
* Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to junior ecologists
* Liaise with clients, regulators, and project partners
* Contribute to business development and project delivery throughout Scotland
About You
You’ll be an experienced ecologist with strong technical expertise and a passion for protecting and enhancing the natural environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Ecology or a related discipline
* Demonstrable experience in ecological consultancy
* CIEEM membership (or working towards it)
* Excellent knowledge of Scottish and UK environmental legislation
* Strong report writing and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence
