Employment: Full Time (10 PA, including up to 2 PA SPA) / Part-time considered
Salary Scale - £111,430 - £148,064 per annum (pro-rata if part time).
About the Service
We are in a good position with our consultant complement and hope to continue to build a strong and supportive cohort of Older Adult consultant Psychiatrists. We are supported by specialty doctors and resident doctors.
Our current vacancy is within our Inpatient Unit for Older Adults. This service provides specialist assessment for those acutely unwell and at risk of harm within Forth Valley in a timely manner.
Forth Valley offers an unrivalled quality of life being an area of outstanding natural beauty which includes Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Historic Stirling ‘the gateway to the Highlands’ has local state schools that consistently feature in the top 20 national league tables. Scotland’s major cities, Glasgow & Edinburgh are within one hour travel.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessment for older adults presenting acutely unwell and at risk of harm.
* Lead and develop improvement initiatives within the inpatient unit.
* Deliver teaching, training, patient safety and service improvement work.
* Collaborate with specialty doctors and resident doctors to deliver holistic care.
* Support clinical governance and quality improvement projects.
Qualifications & Experience
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
* Within six months of CCT or name on GMC Specialist Register for Portfolio pathway.
* Evidence of recent continued academic and professional development.
* Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills.
