Job Summary:
• Worcestershire County Council is seeking a Care Assistant (Scale 2) to support adults with care and support needs at the Bromsgrove Resource Centre.
• The post involves providing personal care, supporting independence, assisting with daily routines, social and therapeutic activities, and contributing to a safe, caring, and respectful environment for service users.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Assist people using the service with personal care, including washing, dressing, bathing, and meals.
• Support social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote independence and wellbeing.
• Participate in domestic tasks and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the service environment.
• Administer medication as instructed and maintain accurate care records.
• Observe and report changes in behaviour, incidents, or health concerns to senior staff.
• Maintain and update care plans and risk assessments in collaboration with colleagues and service users.
• Attend staff meetings, supervisions, and mandatory training sessions.
• Perform regular surveillance and observations to ensure safety of service users and the building.
• Uphold Worcestershire County Council’s Equality and Diversity Policy in all interactions.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and dignity.
Skills/Experience:
• Understanding of the rights, needs, and dignity of people with disabilities.
• Ability to promote independence and choice for service users.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
• Aptitude and commitment to undertake mandatory and vocational training.
• Flexibility to meet the needs of the service and work as part of a team.
• Awareness of safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to write and record essential information clearly and accurately.
Additional Information:
• This is a temporary role running from 19 January 2026 to 27 March 2026, working 32 hours per week (08:45–15:30).
• Location: Bromsgrove Resource Centre.
• DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS check, barred lists check (regulated activity).
