Our client based in Leicester is seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimising their supply chain processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in logistics and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations, ensuring they are efficient and effective in meeting company goals.
* Manage logistics processes including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing performance.
* Utilize supply chain management software and tools to optimize processes, forecast demand, and ensure inventory is managed effectively.
* Analyse data from shipping and delivery processes to find bottlenecks and other issues, implementing solutions to optimize operations.
* Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to integrate logistics with company processes.
* Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
* Assist in the development of supply chain strategies that support business goals and objectives.
* Manage and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness.
* Plan and implement logistical strategies to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods.
* Handle and resolve any issues or complaints that may arise in the supply chain process.
* Review and propose improvements to current operations systems and processes to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Supply Chain Operations Specialist or in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of supply chain processes including procurement, manufacturing, and distribution.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Detail-oriented with an aptitude for planning and strategic thinking.
* Ability to operate in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
* Ability to use Excel is a must
Hours are Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
Salary: £28,080 - £35,000 depending on experience
