We’re looking for enthusiastic and food-focused Kitchen Assistants to join Chester Race Company and support our race days and events throughout the season. This is a varied and exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across an impressive range of events — from race days at Chester Racecourse and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, to weddings, private celebrations, festivals, and nationally televised awards and shows. General Responsibilities:
* Supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen during busy service periods and events
* Assisting Chefs with plating starters, mains, and desserts to a high standard
* Supporting back-of-house operations to ensure efficient kitchen flow
* Maintaining high presentation and quality standards for all dishes leaving the kitchen
* Adhering to all Health & Safety and food hygiene procedures
* Working as part of the wider catering team to ensure smooth service delivery
What We’re Looking For:
* A genuine passion for food and the catering industry
* Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable
* A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn
* Ability to work well under direction in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
* Strong awareness of hygiene, safety, and quality standards
* Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
* This role requires you to be over the age of 18
Pay Rates (inclusive of holiday pay):
💷 £15.25 per hour to increase to £15.70 from April 1st
